Why Coolsculpting Works Wonders for Women

For women, unwanted fat can be an albatross. Dresses are way too tight, jeans won’t zip up without cutting off your circulation and your bras are making your skin bulge on your back. But that’s not all. Your upper arms flap with each movement and your flanks have more flesh than you’re comfortable with. Now you have what is more affectionately known as love handles, but there’s no love for this kind of stubborn fat. So what’s happening? Weight just won’t melt off like it used to. It’s not like you haven’t made tremendous efforts. In fact, you’ve decreased your fat intake and you’ve added a couple more miles on your treadmill run, but the fat refuses to give. Why? Some fat, like post pregnancy or age-related fat, is just diet and exercise resistant. Sure, it’s a real let down, but Coolsculpting can solve this problem for women.

For women who want to avoid painful fat reducing procedures like liposuction or other invasive treatments, Coolsculpting is an ideal non-surgical solution. Coolsculpting is an FDA-cleared patented process that gently cools targeted sections of fat, freezes fat cells without disturbing the surrounding tissue, destroys them and then naturally eliminates the dead cells from the body.
Coolsculpting is specifically one of the best fat reducing treatments for women because it can target women’s problem areas like the abdomen, flanks, bra and back fat area, thighs, the upper arm area and underneath the buttocks. Coolsculpting even has special interchangeable contours with their CoolAdvantage system that can individually address each problem area. Using these special applicators speeds up the treatment process and can be even more effective.
These applicators are CoolMax for the lower and upper abdomen, CoolCore for the contours of the abdomen, CoolCurve for the flanks, CoolFit for the inner thigh and the Petite applicator for the upper arms. Each treatment takes about 35 minutes and produces little to no side effects. Patients may notice a little redness, but it subsides shortly after having each procedure, so they can return to their everyday routine without going through a recovery period. In about three weeks patients should notice results.
After a woman has the Coolsculpting treatment, her body will be more toned and contoured. So say goodbye to those feelings of embarrassment and defeat. Coolsculpting is the answer to your fat reduction struggles. It’s safe, easy and it produces the results you’ll be more than happy with.

So, if you’re a woman and you want to reduce fat in those areas that most women struggle with, call us at Advanced Skin Fitness. We’ll help you freeze unwanted fat and easily get rid of it the comfortable and easy way.

Coolsculpting Has Been FDA Cleared For Upper Arm Fat

Coolsculpting gets two thumbs up! Well, why not?  It’s done wonders for millions of people who have sought to rid unwanted fat from their abdomen, thighs, and waist. It gently cools targeted fat cells, destroys them without damaging the surrounding tissue and naturally rids them from the body. So, it’s understandable why coolsculpting is a go-to treatment for people who want a non-invasive solution to shedding stubborn fat that won’t budge from diet and exercise. But what about the fat on your upper arms? No worries. The FDA has cleared coolsculpting for upper arm fat. Now it’s the only noninvasive fat removal technology cleared by the FDA to address the upper arm area. It won’t be available until Spring 2017, but that’s just around the corner!

Look, you’re not alone. About 50% of people interested in coolsculpting are interested in reducing upper arm fat. Actually, the arms are the third most popular area for consideration of noninvasive fat reduction. Now, because of the overwhelming demand, ZELTIQ, the developers of the Coolsculpting technology, have announced the launching of the CoolAdvantage Petite applicator. It’s a welcome addition to the Coolsculpting CoolAdvantage system of applicators, which are specially designed interchangeable contours that treat the upper arms and other specific parts of the body. Not only do these applicators make the coolsculpting procedure even more effective, they reduce the treatment time to about 35 minutes, which is about half the normal treatment time.
Some of the other applicators in the CoolAdvantage Coolsculpting system address multiple areas that store unwanted fat in the submental area, thigh, abdomen, flank, bra and back fat area and underneath the buttocks. These applicators are CoolMax for the lower and upper abdomen, CoolCore for the contours of the abdomen, CoolCurve for the flanks and CoolFit for the inner thigh. Now there’s Petite applicator for the upper arms. There’s little to no discomfort involved and results are noticeable after about 3 weeks.

Okay, so the love handles are gone and your stomach can finally fit into that snug pair of jeans. Yup, Coolsculpting did the trick! Now it’s time to address the fat on your upper arms? Those overhead presses and bicep curls are just not toning your arms enough to eliminate the excess fat. It’s time to consider Coolsculpting CoolAdvantage Petite to freeze and get rid of it comfortably. So, make sure you make an appointment with Advanced Skin Fitness for Coolsculpting CoolAdvantage Petite in the spring.

We’re open 10AM to 6PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM – 4PM on Saturdays for your convenience. Drop by and talk with us.

Velashape 3 For Leg Swelling and Edema

Ew! What’s happening? You’ve got swollen legs, bloated feet, puffy ankles, inflated arms and inflamed hands. Boy, you’re starting to feel like a human water balloon and it’s the worst. It looks like you may be suffering from edema. Edema is an abnormal swelling, commonly located in the ankles, feet, legs, arms and hands that results from a build up of excess fluids in the skin tissue. And because of gravity, it’s normally found in the lower extremities like the legs and feet. There are a number of reasons for the manifestation of edema like pregnancy, injuries, obesity, steroid reaction, antidepressants, hormonal changes and blood clots. Yes, all of these conditions can cause swelling, but a few treatments of Velashape can get you back to normal.

VelaShape is a safe, fast, non-invasive body contouring treatment for circumference, cellulite reduction and fluid reduction. The treatment involves using radiofrequency, infrared light energy and vacuum to deep heat fat cells that encompass the joining tissue and the collagen in the dermal layer of the skin. The mechanical massage of the vacuum triggers collagen reproduction and elastin. The results are a reduction in fluid, so there’s less body volume and tighter skin.

Now, you may have heard about velashape as a treatment for cellulite, but for edema, not so much. Well, remember cellulite can emerge from excess fluid, which creates a cluster of dimples on the surface of the skin. Velashape works to reduce the fluid, to give the area a more contoured shape, so it’s just as effective for treating edema as it is for treating cellulite.

The Velashape procedure takes less than an hour to perform and the results are visibly noticeable after a few weeks. For some patients the results may last for 6 months and for some 12 months.

Don’t worry about feeling any pain. There’s little to no discomfort. Patients may detect a sensation of distinct heat radiating through their skin, but it’s more comparable to a warm deep tissue massage, rather than a burning feeling. The treatment conforms to the patient’s sensitivity and minimizes discomfort. Some patients may experience some tenderness, redness or slight bruising on the treatment areas, but these effects are usually not severe, so patients can function normally.

If you see your body start to swell in the legs, feet or other parts, stop on by and we’ll fix you right up with velashape. In no time, the fluid will recede and you’ll have the body that you want.

We’re open 10AM to 6PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM – 4PM on Saturdays for your convenience. Drop by and talk with us.

Laser Technology is Not Just A Sci-fi Concept, It’s Used for Medical Procedures Too

If you think your only knowledge of laser technology is limited to the laser lightsabers you’ve seen in your favorite Star Wars movies, Star Trek episodes or sci-fi TV shows, think again. You’d be surprised to know that laser technology has been around for about five decades, which is long before Captain Kirk sets off on his final frontier. The fact is, you see laser technology used in a multitude of products and services that you utilize every day, like store barcode scanners, laser printers, CD players, DVD drives and more. The term “laser” is an acronym for “light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation”. This source of light has the unique ability to narrowly focus on a tight spot and deliver a high degree of energy to that particular point, which makes it a highly useful tool for cutting, welding and especially medical procedures. Laser technology is a prominent technique used in medicine and because of it’s versatile benefits, it has proven to be a mechanism that will have a lasting role in diagnosing precancerous cells and cancer growth in its early stages. Currently you can find an exponential increase in it use amongst specialties in branches of medicine like ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology and precise surgical treatments. Because of the remarkable surgical precision lasers allow, neurosurgeons can perform incisions more meticulously and use them as endoscopic guides for brain and spinal cord procedures. Laser technology has become such a preferred method of treatment for physicians that veterinarians have found that it’s more effective for the excision of tumorous growths, endoscopic procedures and coagulation surgery for eye disease.  It’s also used in oral surgery, drilling tooth cavities, tooth desensitization and antibiotic treatments for oral infections. So, you’ll find many dentists using this technology to provide more comfort and precision to their patients. In fact, technicians from various types of practices are now able to perform a myriad of less invasive surgeries for tumors, polyps, kidney stones, detached retinas, prostates, warts and many more. So, be prepared to hear more uses of laser technology in the medical field. Gynecology and obstetrics is a particular field of medicine, where laser technology has been used in place of x-rays to treat vaginal atrophy, a condition that effects about 40% of women over the age of 50 or who are experiencing menopause, breast cancer or have had hysterectomies. Because the vaginal walls begin to thin, it can lead to burning and painful sensations when urinating and having intercourse.  So, a CO2 fractional laser is used to release energized heat into the depth of the vaginal tissue. Through a special pulse, the heat helps to stimulate  new collagen production, which thickens and accelerates moisture, so the vagina returns to the condition it was in before it atrophied. Laser technology is also used for aesthetic purposes. If you’re interested in permanently removing a tattoo, birthmark or unwanted hair, many technicians will now use a laser powered instrument for the treatment. It’s faster, provides lasting effects and can be more comfortable than traditional procedures. Because of it’s safety and effectiveness, light based laser instruments are frequently used for aesthetic services on men and women. Technicians are able to perform non-invasive, quick procedures that save on costs, recovery time and produce little to no side effects for the patient. The outcomes are more positive than conventional aggressive treatments and give the patients more self-assurance, resulting in more people choosing laser treatments as their best option for aesthetic improvement. Even dieters and those who have been unsuccessful at shedding stubborn body fat have turned to laser treatment for fat reduction and body contouring. There are FDA approved non-invasive laser treatments that can specifically target areas of fat on the body, melt or freeze the fat cells, so that they die and are metabolized naturally in the body. These procedures are known as coolsculpting for freezing fat cells and velashape for heating fat cells. Laser technology is one of the greatest alternatives to traditional cosmetic surgery and will continue to gain popularity because of its fast, virtually pain free results. Continued improvements can be expected, so for now, if you are considering laser treatment, be sure to consult with a licensed technician, who is  informative and uses state-of-the-art equipment. It’s imperative that you make sure the technician is efficient at placing your safety and comfort as their first priority, so you can get the best care. Now, you don’t have to catch a ride on the Starship Enterprise for a laser experience. Just visit us at Advanced Skin Fitness for fat reduction and other cosmetic procedures like tattoo removal and hair removal, where you will get fast effective results, with little to no downtime. We’re open 10AM to 6PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM – 4PM on Saturdays for your convenience. Drop by and talk with us. Advanced Skin Fitness 2928 Oak Lawn Avenue Dallas, Texas 75219 (214) 521-5277

At Home vs Professional Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures on the market. It’s an effective option for prolonged and sometimes permanent hair removal.  This safe, non-invasive procedure uses laser technology to infiltrate and disrupt the hair follicles, thereby suppressing and sometimes permanently halting hair re-growth. With millions of people opting to try laser hair removal, it’s not surprising that there are now laser hair removal devices available for purchase for at home use. Before deciding to try your own hand at this procedure using a department store product, consider that there are risks involved. At-home users have not been trained and are not experienced in performing this procedure. Besides that, in order to be able to sell these products to the public, the power of the device must be dramatically reduced, making them far less effective than a medical laser. On the other hand, having the procedure done by a professional with a medical laser device offers a host of benefits you won’t get with an at-home device. The technique is gentle and involves minimal discomfort or pain Larger areas can be treated during each procedure, because the technician can remove patches of hair, instead of strand by strand. The procedure is more powerful and effective at permanently removing hair Burns or blisters can be avoided No downtime The lasers can be adjusted to accommodate different types of skin   With at-home hair removal devices, the results aren’t the same and there are more risks involved, particularly for those with dark skin. A med-spa technician will choose an appropriate laser with the correct wavelength to safely treat any color of skin. When done properly, the laser beam will only destroy the melanin in the hair follicle and avoid damaging the skin. Only a professional will have the skill for these special circumstances, so they can lessen the risk of side-effects or blisters on the skin.   To ensure a safe and effective treatment, make an appointment with a licensed professional at a med spa. The trained professionals at Advanced Skin Fitness use medical grade laser hair removal devices and will advise you on how to maintain your treatments. We’re open 10AM to 6PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM – 4PM on Saturdays for your convenience. Drop by and talk with us. Advanced Skin Fitness 2928 Oak Lawn Avenue Dallas, Texas 75219 (214) 521-5277

Pico Genesis for Gentle Treatment of Hyper-pigmentation

If you’ve noticed dark patches or darkening spots on your face, neck, or hands, you may be experiencing some form of hyper-pigmentation. Hyper-pigmentation occurs when the melanin in your skin becomes overactive. This condition is characterized by dark spots, sometimes called age spots or liver spots, freckles, pigmented lesions, and darkened areas. It’s a common skin condition for millions of people of all ethnic groups, and may particularly affect pregnant women, the elderly, and people who have experienced severe acne breakouts. Hyper-pigmentation is difficult to get rid of  but Pico Genesis is an effective treatment option. It’s a fairly new, non-invasive, non-surgical laser technology that focuses on the problem areas of discolored skin and quickly treats the effected areas with little to no discomfort. It is sometimes also used for treating wrinkles caused by age or sun exposure. Pico Genesis can remove skin discolorations without the pain and side effects that other similar treatments cause. Other laser skin treatments can sometimes cause burns and require downtime for recovery. Pico Genesis treatments don’t create the intense heat that some other laser treatments do, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin, and because Pico Genesis is so gentle, patients can go right back to their everyday activities immediately following the procedure. There are various types of hyper-pigmentation from which people suffer. Post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation (PIH). This type of discoloration occurs after acne inflammation, psoriasis, burns and lesions. Lentigines – This type of discoloration occurs after the age of 60. Individuals may notice liver spots or age spots as they age and often develop from UV exposure. Melasma – This type of discoloration happens to pregnant women or people who experience hormonal fluctuations through medication or hormone replacement therapy. If you have hyper-pigmentation, stop by our offices and ask if Pico Genesis might be the right treatment for you. We’re open 10AM to 6PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM – 4PM on Saturdays for your convenience. Drop by and talk with us. Advanced Skin Fitness 2928 Oak Lawn Avenue Dallas, Texas 75219 (214) 521-5277
