Comparing Skin Tightening Treatments

Gone are the days when a surgical and painful facelift was the most common form of treatment for sagging and loose skin. Skin tightening is becoming more and more in demand and now there are more options for people who want to have their skin contoured and their wrinkles smoothed out. There have been many advancements in cosmetic skincare that offer a less painful, non-surgical and more natural solution for skin that has aged or has been damaged by the sun. Some of those treatments include Thermage, Ultherapy and Juvashape. Each of these procedures is non-invasive and targets skin that has lost elasticity and firmness. They are especially used to treat “turkey neck”, which is the sagging skin under the chin, face and other areas like the thighs, abdomen, hands and arms. These three procedures are highly effective, non-surgical and produce amazing results but there are some differences between them. Thermage skin-tightening is a non-invasive procedure that rejuvenates the skin with pulses of radio waves that produce heat. It firms, tightens, and smoothes skin. It’s often used for cellulite and as a post-natal treatment to target sagging abdominal skin for women who have had their skin stretched out during pregnancy. Thermage requires one to two treatments and you’ll see tightening and more improvement for up to six months. The average cost per session is about $2000. There is typically some pain and patients may feel discomfort from the heat. Ultherapy skin-tightening is a non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound energy to lift the skin on the neck, under the chin and on the eyebrow. It also smoothes out lines and wrinkles on the chest area for women. Ultherapy requires one treatment and you’ll see results in about 2-3 months. The average cost per session is about $1500 – $3000. There may be a little pain involved, but it can be alleviated during the treatment. Juvashape skin-tightening is a non-invasive procedure that uses radio frequency to sculpt, contour and tone the body. It improves sagging skin and cellulite. Juvashape requires about six sessions to see noticeable results. The average cost per session is about $300. There is no pain involved and no recovery. If you have skin that is sagging or wrinkled and you would like to make it smoother and firmer, any one of these treatments is recommended. You can decide which one would be best for you by comparing all three. Whatever you choose, you’ll look better and you’ll feel better. So stop in for your skin tightening treatment. You’ll be happy with the results. We’re open 10AM to 6PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM – 4PM on Saturdays for your convenience. Drop by and talk with us.
