Velashape 3 For Leg Swelling and Edema

Ew! What’s happening? You’ve got swollen legs, bloated feet, puffy ankles, inflated arms and inflamed hands. Boy, you’re starting to feel like a human water balloon and it’s the worst. It looks like you may be suffering from edema. Edema is an abnormal swelling, commonly located in the ankles, feet, legs, arms and hands that results from a build up of excess fluids in the skin tissue. And because of gravity, it’s normally found in the lower extremities like the legs and feet. There are a number of reasons for the manifestation of edema like pregnancy, injuries, obesity, steroid reaction, antidepressants, hormonal changes and blood clots. Yes, all of these conditions can cause swelling, but a few treatments of Velashape can get you back to normal.

VelaShape is a safe, fast, non-invasive body contouring treatment for circumference, cellulite reduction and fluid reduction. The treatment involves using radiofrequency, infrared light energy and vacuum to deep heat fat cells that encompass the joining tissue and the collagen in the dermal layer of the skin. The mechanical massage of the vacuum triggers collagen reproduction and elastin. The results are a reduction in fluid, so there’s less body volume and tighter skin.

Now, you may have heard about velashape as a treatment for cellulite, but for edema, not so much. Well, remember cellulite can emerge from excess fluid, which creates a cluster of dimples on the surface of the skin. Velashape works to reduce the fluid, to give the area a more contoured shape, so it’s just as effective for treating edema as it is for treating cellulite.

The Velashape procedure takes less than an hour to perform and the results are visibly noticeable after a few weeks. For some patients the results may last for 6 months and for some 12 months.

Don’t worry about feeling any pain. There’s little to no discomfort. Patients may detect a sensation of distinct heat radiating through their skin, but it’s more comparable to a warm deep tissue massage, rather than a burning feeling. The treatment conforms to the patient’s sensitivity and minimizes discomfort. Some patients may experience some tenderness, redness or slight bruising on the treatment areas, but these effects are usually not severe, so patients can function normally.

If you see your body start to swell in the legs, feet or other parts, stop on by and we’ll fix you right up with velashape. In no time, the fluid will recede and you’ll have the body that you want.

We’re open 10AM to 6PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM – 4PM on Saturdays for your convenience. Drop by and talk with us.
