Rehydrating Depleted Skin

If you notice that your skin is looking dull, tired, less elastic, oily and is prone to acne, your skin may be suffering from dehydration. Now, don’t get confused by the oily patches you see on your cheeks. This type of skin normally soaks up moisturizers and can look dry in spots. It’s why make-up looks uneven and your skin doesn’t feel as smooth and soft as it did before it was damaged by over-dryness. You’re not alone, dehydrated skin is a common problem and can be caused by cold weather, extreme heat, frequent hot baths, harsh soaps and detergents, sun exposure, dermatitis, psoriasis and lack of sufficient water consumption. Most people have experienced one or more of these conditions at one time or another, but when it results in over-dried skin, the good news is that something can be done about it.  Of course the best way to regain plump, bright and clear skin is to to hydrate it. Start by drinking a sufficient amount of water each day. Drinking water flushes toxins out of the body. The build up of toxins in the body can lead to an unlikely occurrence of acne breakouts. If you don’t have an adequate amount of water flowing through your system so that metabolic waste are expelled, toxins can release through the skin and result in flare ups of pimples, blackheads and clogged pores. When hydrating with water is not quite enough, there are other treatments that can assist with keeping the skin hydrated to restore smooth healthy skin. You can try hydrafacial, a safe, non-invasive, non surgical treatment that hydrates the skin. Hydrafacial is a treatment that delivers the beneficial properties of an elevated chemical peel in a series of specific steps for smooth healthy skin. The procedure also involves shedding the dead skin from the dermal surface. A technician will painlessly remove any excess oil that has accumulated in the pores and hydrates the skin with antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid to hold in moisture and elasticity. Skinceuticals has a line of great hydrating products with hyaluronic acid that can be used with hydrafacial. Dry skin can affect anyone and can be tough to battle, so make sure you get 4-8 glasses of water a day, use topical solutions that hydrate the skin and consider getting treatments like hydrafacial that helps to hydrate the skin and eliminate dead skin cells.
